System Codes

Note! These are just how we personally use these terms. Definitions as used by other people may vary :)

Asterisk (*) after name in sign-off (eg. Wriothesley *)

Indicates a sourcename being used for sign-off. Equivalent to [fictive]. Not indicative of claiming a sourcename necessarily, generally used by members who do not have a dedicated sign-off name to clearly indicate as such. Reasons for this vary user-by-user and should not be assumed.

Auxiliary name

Refers to a name used specifically for sign-offs or to distinguish members with the same name (eg. there are two people called Angela. The first may have already established a sign off of "Angela", and the second therefore may sign off as "AN" to distinguish from the earlier member).

[Fictive]

Lengthened form of the asterisk shortening. Sometimes rendered as []. Now rarely used in favour of asterisk marking.

Fronting room

Refers to the area near front internally.

Sourcename

Refers to a name inherited from or used by an introject's source. Does not automatically indicate claiming one's sourcename. Often indicates internal reference or usage. May sometimes be claimed as an individual name as well, but this should not be assumed either way.
